Former Google chairman (and Clinton advocate) donates $4.7M to NPR to develop regional newsrooms


Erik Schmidt once also founded a “company” called Groundwork (see above) whose sole purpose was to get Hillary Clinton elected.

The family of former Google CEO Eric Schmidt donated $4.7 million to NPR newsrooms in the Midwest and California as the economic fallout from the pandemic wreaks havoc on the local news industry.

“Now more than ever, we depend on high-quality journalism for timely and critical information,” Eric Schmidt’s wife, Wendy Schmidt, said in a statement to NPR.
