If Schools Don’t Open, Funding Should ‘Go to the Parents,’ Trump Says


 

Why not have the money follow the student? If the teachers don’t want to come back to work students and parents need to do something. If the school funding for a particular student went directly to the student, parents could then hire private teachers. Some believe that the quality of teaching would increase along with private teacher pay.

“If schools do not reopen, the funding should go to parents to send their child to public, private, charter, religious or homeschool of their choice,” Trump said, emphasizing the need to give parents choice. “… If the school is closed, the money should follow the student so the parents and families are in control of their own decisions.
