It’s not that Facebook is pro-Trump, it hasn’t been – by a long shot, But that isn’t good enough for George Soros

And there was that lunch between Trump and Zuckerberg. Maybe there was an implicit non-agression pact?

It reminds us of when Obama met with the big banks in 2009 and told them that he was the only thing between them and the “pitchforks”. That did turn out to be an effective fundraising pitch.

We also suspect that  Mr. Soros does not like the power the Internet gives the average person. He likely preferred the days when information was curated exclusively by the political class in newsrooms in New York, London, and Washington DC.

“I think there is a kind of informal mutual assistance operation or agreement developing between Trump and Facebook,” Soros, 89, said Thursday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. “Facebook will work together to re-elect Trump, and Trump will work to protect Facebook so that this situation cannot be changed and it makes me very concerned about the outcome for 2020.”
