Russia’s Orwellian commerce tracking system: We know when you bought it, what you bought, and how much you bought.
The idea is to track the entire consumer economy down to the most minute purchase. This should dovetail well with the social credit system that China has developed. Everything you do will be subject to the scrutiny of the state.
And have fun buying gold or silver in this system.
(From Reason)
Launched in 2018, the Chestny ZNAK system is designed to authenticate merchant transactions by assigning unique IDs to physical goods—sometimes with a QR code, sometimes with a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag, sometimes both. The code is scanned when the product is purchased, and the transaction is then registered in a government database.
