Backstory: On Thursday night around 10pm, the daughter admitted her 74 yr old mom to Legacy Salmon Creek, Vancouver WA, due to needing fluids and antibiotics for a UTI, And both wore a mask as they always do in a hospital. Both patient and advocate said no Covid1984 test was to be done as she is not there for any flu like symptoms. The doctor agreed to this request. Then she came back to visit the next day, and was told she could not see her mom (who she is the legal caregiver for) because the mom was now in quarantine for 24 hrs until her covid test came back. The daughter spent hours on the phone with nursing staff trying to understand why she was testing against her will. THEN the staff changed their story and said the patient was NOT tested, and is in a 24 quarantine because she would not test. The patient has a brain tumor and needs an advocate due to being easily confused. The daughter was denied entry. And the daughter was denied a true explanation as to why her mom was now in quarantine, when she was just with her until 3:30am the night before with no problems. She was also denied the right to fill out discharge papers, and was told by the security guard on camera, that she has no right to discharge her mom until the doctor gave his permission. Which he refused to do.
This is when People’s Rights WA was called for help, to get representation in to the patient, or help get her discharged to the daughter as she was only in there for fluids and did not need to stay a second night…. then this video began. 38 min mark is where the protesters were maced and the legal caregiver/daughter was grabbed by the neck by Clark County Sheriff’s department and thrown out of the hospital doors.
