Chinese Medicine Expert Weighs in on COVID and Natural Healing

On the latest episode of CHD.TV’sWhat’s Your View?” host Sumayyah Simone interviewed Ann Tomoko Rosen, an acupuncturist board-certified in Chinese herbal and body work healing, about COVID, healing and science.

Simone admitted she has a medicine cabinet full of supplements, which she heard were all good for her, but wondered — are they good for her now?

And what if every person in her family has COVID, but each person is showing a different kind of “sickness?”

Simone also asked, is it true the health freedom movement has settled into a one-size-fits-all approach to health and healing? Should we be thinking deeper about our health choices? Should we be more in tune with our own bodies when it comes to the supplements we take and the herbs we use?

Rosen answered these questions and more, including speaking out on what the Chinese medical community thinks about the COVID response of using ventilators as the go-to medical intervention.

Rosen said there is much “chatter” from the Chinese medicine community, suggesting we may need to step back and look at our unhealthy habits. She said the human body is complex, but health solutions are often simple — if we tune into our bodies.

“Nature still applies to COVID,” Rosen told Simone. According to Rosen, many people use melatonin and vitamin D as COVID treatments. She explained the light-dark relationship of melatonin for sleep and the natural rhythm of sleep, and how vitamin D represents the sun and the natural light element, using this formula: Dark = melatonin = sleep. Light = Vitamin D = sun.

Also in this episode:

  • Should we think more about what supplements we are taking and if we actually need that supplement at the time we take it?
  • Vitamin C, according to Chinese medicine, activates defensive chi, and is cold and would be used to clear heat from the body. Why are so many people using it to treat and prevent COVID?
  • When you think about homeostasis — the process living things use to actively maintain fairly stable conditions necessary for survival — is it possible to have too much of a good supplement?
  • Rosen’s highlights connections between the health of humans and all Earth’s inhabitants, including that scientists are noticing fish and wildlife are deficient in Thiamine (vitamin B1), a sign that our waters and soils are out of balance.

Simone and Rosen also discussed what alternative medicine is saying about COVID vaccine injuries. Rosen said she’s seeing patterns of neurological and organ damage as more people come into her practice after taking the COVID mRNA vaccines, and she explained how she interprets the symptoms from the Chinese medicine perspective.
