A new book by CPRC Fellow Amanda Collins Johnson: Beyond Survival
Amanda Collins Johnson, a fellow with the CPRC, survived a violent rape in a gun-free zone. While she had regularly carried a concealed handgun, she was denied the ability to defend herself because the University of Nevada did not allow permitted concealed weapon on campus. Amanda is the author of the new book: Beyond Survival: Reclaiming My Life After I Survived Rape, which describes her journey of learning how to live after surviving the attack and the lessons that she has learned. She has given talks at college campuses, women’s conferences, and law enforcement conferences. She has also appeared on such shows as Fox and Friends and The Glenn Beck show.
