Gun Control Group caught breaking New Mexico’s Universal Background Check Law so they Attack John Lott, Seriously

The CPRC’s Director of Education, Kerry Slone, has an op-ed at Townhall titled: “Do Gun Laws Apply to Gun Control Organizations in New Mexico?” The New Mexicans to Prevent Gun Violence claimed that her piece proved that the CPRC was hypocritical on gun control and that they were happy to send Lott a copy of the US Constitution. Question: Is the gun control group actually claiming that their beloved universal background checks are unconstitutional?

Lott fact-checked them: “@nmpgvnow, you argue others should be prosecuted for violating the law on transferring guns, but it is OK for you. You think it is OK b/c you have a “good reason” for violating the law. But if I wanted to quickly lend a gun to a woman being stalked, I should go to jail, why?”

Other gun control organizations across the country rallied to defend New Mexicans to Prevent Gun Violence claim. Here is a post from Ceasefire Oregon. Our friend Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY) also entered the fray (shown below): “This is rich: Door-to-door gun buy-back group, trading gift certificates for private weapons, violated gun transfer laws in NM.
