The US and anti Covid policies: “Loneliness kills more than cigarette smoke”
We are all connected and to stay healthy we must continue to be so. It has nothing to do with theeb
The department disclosed a Surgeon General’s Advisories A declaration to all states, to draw attention to a public health problem that has provoked various reactions overseas. Generally with these admonitions you also provide recommendations to try to solve the problem. The news was also reported here.
In summary: lockdo-induced loneliness, interpersonal barriers, being separated from each other, kill more than 6 glasses of alcohol ingested or 15 cigarettes smoked in a day.
It is not only about mental disorders, depression or deep melancholy, derived from living segregated between four walls. Rather, they evaluate the diseases of the body, dementia for the elderly, strokes and cardiovascular damage for anyone. A set of conditions that resulted in more premature deaths.
The Surgeon General’s opinion that alludes to “an epidemic of loneliness and isolation” outlines a framework for a national strategy that promotes social connection, which has never been implemented before in the United States. It details the recommendations that individuals, governments, workplaces, health systems and communities in general can take to increase social relationships in their lives, so that in the whole country can improve global health.
It reads “ ” Given the significant health consequences of loneliness and isolation, we must prioritize social relationships in the same way that we have prioritized other critical public health factors such as tobacco, obesity, and drug use disorders. Together we can build a healthier, more resilient, less lonely and more connected country”.
In particular: “The physical health consequences of poor or insufficient social relationships include a 29% increase in the risk of heart disease, a 32% increase in the risk of stroke and a 50% increase in the risk of developing dementia for the elderly. In addition, the absence of social life increases the risk of premature death by more than 60%.
Loneliness also impairs mental health. In adults, the risk of developing depression among those who report feeling lonely often is more than double that of those who only rarely or never feel. Loneliness and social isolation in childhood increase the risk of depression and anxiety in the immediate and future. And with more than one in five adults and more than one in three young adults living with a mental illness in the United Statesi, addressing loneliness and isolation is critical to solving the mental health problem in America.
Finally: “Our relationships are a source of healing and well-being and can help us live healthier, more fulfilling and more productive lives.
Finally
After three years, with the pandemic over, with half a pot uncovered (the vaccines that do not protect, the phantom and halter contracts of the manufacturing companies, the treatments for pneumonia ambushed, the adverse events of the anti Covid persistently denied and everything else you know) the US Department of Public Health declares that “it has been harmful to keep our distance from each other”.
Very harmful, judging by the analysis spread to all states.
I thank Professor Stefano Petti for having reported the news harbinger of hope: if in the US we begin to reason about the mistakes made it will be increasingly difficult to propose the same model even here in us.
I also thank the anonymous reader who in 2020 sent us the distressing image of the Chinese school that you see attached.
