Overt Censorship Now Targeting Natural Health Info & Independent Media
The most recent example comes at the hands of Pinterest who removed GreenMedInfo.com, one of the world’s most trafficked and widely referenced natural health research sites, from its platform, stating: “your linked website violated our misinformation policy. This policy includes things like promotion of false cures for terminal or chronic illnesses, and anti-vaccination advice.” While Pinterest is closing the door to natural medicine info, it still freely allowing minors access to pornographic and violent content.
GreenMedInfo’s founder, Sayer Ji wrote, “This action occurred after a number of other sites which either question the safety of vaccines, or are critical of the vaccine industry, reported similar de-platforming.” After decades of advocacy, The National Vaccine Information Center had its Pinterest account removed for violating the social media site’s nebulous “community guidelines on misinformation.” Health Impact News also received notifications and disciplinary actions from Pinterest for posting “medical disinformation” that was “considered to be misleading or inaccurate by the medical community.” The widespread censorship isn’t just an anomaly of one platform or one wrong opinion. Health Impact News is the only website who regularly publishes the Department of Justice’s quarterly reports listing compensations for injuries and deaths due to vaccines from the Vaccine Court. In response to publishing DOJ reports, Facebook’s ‘fact-checker’ called the government information false stating, “This Claim is rhetorically as well as empirically false.”
It was last year when author and founder of Generation Rescue J.B. Handley was kicked off his account at the popular writing platform Medium.com. Having taglines of “where words matter” and “ideas and perspectives you won’t find anywhere else,” Medium booted Handley for essentially collating published, peer-reviewed research showing that injected aluminum is potentially problematic. To this day, Medium has not renewed his account yet allows other writers on the platform to freely attack Handley without recourse. On the scholarly side, prominent authors of those peer-reviewed aluminum studies such as Dr. Chris Exley, Dr. Christopher Shaw, Ph.D and others also have experienced academic censorship and pressures when attempting to research and publish their scientific findings on injected aluminum.
The widespread, open censorship and targeted discrimination has been steadily growing over the past year as most major social media platforms, along with other sites, have cracked down on independent voices, thought and journalism. The techniques used to end the free speech of some early on may have seemed justified or reasonable at the time. Yet looking back it’s becoming clear that the strategy and apparatus wielded by Big Tech as an excuse to deplatform a few bad apples is now being turned on anyone who expresses thoughts, ideas or facts outside a narrowly defined norm.
When social media platforms aren’t outright eliminating speech they don’t like, they’re hard at work cutting out funding sources so independent ideas can’t thrive. The Richie Allen Show is the most listened to independent news radio show in Europe and has had its YouTube account and show archives deleted. Host Richie Allen has also endured several questionable Facebook bans for posting innocuous content. The popular conscious media and education platform Collective-Evolution has experienced increasing resistance from both Facebook and YouTube. Speaking of past issues with Facebook, Founder Joe Martino recently wrote, “Facebook shut down our Facebook page for 21 days due to false allegations of copyright violation on OUR OWN original content….Last time Facebook shut our page down we lost $35,000 in revenue and it was on the 2nd day of our IndieGoGo campaign launch, effectively hindering us from gaining traction on the campaign.” On December 26 YouTube demonetized Collecitve-Evolution’s entire channel yet still allows countless other accounts free reign and monetization privileges who glorifying violence and drug use.
Solutions and workarounds are emerging in the face of unjust and politically-motivated censorship. The once preeminent fundraising website Patreon is currently facing a mounting backlash after author and podcaster Sam Harris, one of the sites top-grossing accounts, deleted his account citing ‘political bias.’ Joining Harris is popular author and psychology professor Jordan Peterson, Dave Rubin, host of The Rubin Report, citizen journalist Luke Rudkowski of We Are Change and others in walking away from their successful Patreon accounts.
After experiencing a massive YouTube ban, Natural News created its own video platform which is now acting as a refuge for a growing number of content creators. Meanwhile, Twitter alternatives like Minds.com and Gab.ai are continually growing as people move away from the Big Tech and social media censorship model.
It’s important to keep in mind the timeline of tyrant-like moves by several social media giants. When big social media platforms were in their infancy and growing, they advertised as an open commons which attracted millions of creators who freely populated [gave value] to the sites with their content. Once empty cyberspace frameworks of social media platforms became tirelessly populated by the will and energy of diverse human creativity. The entire essence and value of platforms like YouTube and Facebook are the result of a collection of independent, unhindered human effort. It is only now, in their elevated position of power, that social media giants and other platforms are aggressively censoring with impunity. Much of the health “misinformation” being censored is done so using a highly pro-pharmaceutical lens. The commonly cited settled science that has been used in an attempt to shut down the vaccine debate appears to be finding a home within the inner sanctums of dystopian social media censors. How are you making your voice, truths and vital information heard?
