Israel just had a mass public shooting where seven people were murdered. Compare Israel’s response to that in California, where they have just had several mass public shootings. In California, few people have a concealed handgun permit. Half Moon Bay is in San Mateo County had 24 permits with 591,048 adults (one permit per every 24,630 adults). Monterey Park and Beverly Crest are in Los Angeles County and had 1,378 permits last year with an adult population of 7.8 million (one permit for every 5,660 adults). In contrast, they know that armed civilians are necessary to stop mass public shootings in Israel.

“Firearm licensing will be expedited and expanded in order to enable thousands of additional citizens to carry weapons,” read a statement on the Facebook page of the Prime Minister of Israel.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir told reporters over the weekend: “When civilians have guns, they can defend themselves.”
