A Seminole County Public Schools employee was critically injured in a “stand your ground” shooting Thursday morning after an argument with another man inside a Sanford gas station, according to police.

Officials with the school district said two delivery workers with the district were at a RaceTrac gas station on the corner of East State Road 46 and East Lake Mary Boulevard when the shooting happened.

Before police could arrive, the worker exited the gas station but returned several times to continue the argument, Gillett said.

Before he exits the RaceTrac, he takes out a firearm from his pocket. He does have a concealed weapons license. He goes to leave the gas station and right as he’s exiting the doors, (the worker) is there again for a confrontation and the shots are fired.”

Police said the argument between the worker and the gunman was never physical. However, Gillet said that the shooter and others inside the store were in fear because of what the worker had said during the fight…

Green Bay, WI, November 14, 2021 (WTAQ)

Brown County District Attorney David Lasee will not press charges against the man who shot and killed Dominique Wilson at the Marathon Gas Station on East Walnut Street in Green Bay on November 14th, saying that the shooter acted in self defense.

Jaylene Edwards is said to have shot Wilson during an altercation between several women at the gas station. The fight between the women involved bats, brass knuckles, and pepper spray. According to evidence, Wilson pulled out a gun and began pointing it at other people in the parking lot, and was apparently attempting to fire it. In a press statement issued late Friday afternoon, Lasee said Wilson had repeatedly pointed a friend’s legally owned handgun at people who were involved in a dispute at the gas station and appeared to point the loaded weapon at several individuals involved in the altercation before she was shot…

“The evidence collected and reviewed by the Green Bay Police Department and the Brown County District Attorney’s Office does not support charges in this case; rather, it suggests that Edwards subjectively feared for his life and/or the lives of others, and that his subjective belief was reasonable in this instance,” Lasee wrote…
