A legally armed Lyft driver shot and critically injured two suspects who carjacked him in Philadelphia, police said.
The ordeal began Monday shortly before 2:45 p.m. A 38-year-old Lyft driver was driving his 2011 Infiniti on the 1100 block of North 40th Street when he was rear ended by a Honda Accord.
The Lyft driver got out of his car and was approached by a man armed with a shotgun. The gunman then went inside the Infiniti, police said.
The Lyft driver, who has a valid permit to carry, then pulled out his own gun and fired at the gunman, police said. A second suspect who was inside the Honda Accord then attempted to run the Lyft driver over, according to investigators. The Lyft driver then fired at the second suspect…

The owner of a BMW shot at a man who had just taken off in his vehicle at a convenience store Tuesday afternoon on the city’s Northeast Side, police said.
A San Antonio police lieutenant at the scene said that the owner of the vehicle had just purchased some items inside the store in the 5100 block of Randolph Boulevard when he noticed someone driving away in his car.
As the suspect was driving away, the car owner opened fire, which caused the suspect to crash the car into a pole, police said…
The owner, believed to be about 30 years old, was armed when he went inside the store and is cooperating with the investigation. He is not expected to face charges, police said.

Hillsborough County detectives say they believe a truck driver was defending himself when he fatally shot a man who tried to rob him.
Around 11 p.m. Tuesday, the driver was trying to repair his disabled vehicle near U.S. Highway 92 and County Road 579. That’s when a man approached him and demanded he hand over his valuables.
Deputies said the driver did and handed over several items. The man left but then returned demanding his cell phone.
Deputies said the driver “was in fear for his life” and armed himself before shooting the man, who died at the scene.
As of Wednesday, deputies said they believe it is a case of self-defense.

Officials announced on Tuesday that they wouldn’t file charges against a York restaurant owner who shot and killed a man at his business.
The announcement comes seven days after emergency crews responded to a shooting at the Asian Best restaurant on the first block of North Penn Street in York at around 7 p.m.

In a news release, the North Pole Police Department said that Adam Selid, 18, was shot during a gun sale that turned into an attempted robbery, KTUU-TV reported. The shooting took place in the parking lot near a Taco Bell at North Santa Claus Lane, according to the television station.

Killeen Police Chief Charles Kimble told KWTX it all started when police officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant at the suspect’s house that morning. At the time, Jones was wanted in connection to a string of robberies in the area and has an active warrant out of Dallas for aggravated robbery, Kimble said.
Jones entered a vehicle and fled the scene, leading authorities on a chase into Harker Heights, Nolanville and back into Killeen.
