NBC’s Law & Order Tries to Help Narrative that Liberal Policies aren’t causing increased crime
NBC’s Law & Order has a show belittling conservative claims that New York and other liberal cities’ policies are responsible for increased violent crime (S22 E2, September 29, 2022). You might think that cutting New York’s police budget by $1 billion per year, letting out half the inmates from local jails, District Attorneys who are refusing to prosecute violent criminals, and bail reform have lead to higher crime rates. But the actors playing police officers on NBC’s Law & Order will have none of it.
The show has the actor playing the Texas governor attacking New York’s policies in public and then apologizing in private for his criticisms. However, the show is even more over the top as the theme is that the governor’s family murders his daughter because they are trying to hide that his daughter is having an abortion. She had to travel to New York City because of Texas’ strict abortion laws.
