FEC Donation Rules
An individual may contribute up to $5,800 to a candidate for Congress, covering both the Primary and General Election. A couple may contribute a total of $11,600. If you contribute $2,900, you are a max donor for the Primary.

Some types of business entities can donate and others cannot:
- Incorporated companies are not allowed to donate.
- Unincorporated companies may donate, but the donation must be attributed to specific individual owners and apply to the owners’ limits.
- An LLC may contribute if it is not taxed as a corporation
- An S corporation may not contribute
