The surest proof that government has grown beyond its usefulness in protecting our rights is the persecution of an Amish farmer who refuses to comply with USDA regulations. Patrick Carroll says there's something we can learn from this farmer's example.

It's hard to know who and what to believe about the unprecedented wildfire destruction and death on Maui. One of the more disturbing stories beginning to emerge is that some authorities closed roads and trapped residents trying to escape. There's an important lesson here.
