Woman’s Business ‘Flipped Upside Down’ Over Vaccine-Induced Measles and Misinformation

Erica Bateman-Tank, Founder & Exec. Dir. Green Garden Child Development Center told Fox 2 News that a child under their care was diagnosed with the measles that later turned out to really be a vaccine reaction to the MMR vaccine.

She tells how the health department spread misinformation about the incident and misled the public about the case, creating unnecessary fear about measles at her business without informing the public the fact that the child was recently vaccinated and that they hadn’t tested the child for which strain of measles the child contracted (I.e. wild strain measles or the vaccine strain).

Vaccine-induced measles is a common adverse reaction to the MMR vaccine. The health department reported 41 cases of measles in the outbreak in her area in which 2 cases (so far) turned out to really be vaccine reactions. The health departments are actively reporting both types of measles as the wild type and spreading fear propaganda in the media without informing the public of this known common reaction to the vaccine.
