We know spells passed down from our grandmothers. We keep books with photos and locks of hair. We bake pies for no reason and have sex under the moon. We raise sunflowers to make the postman smile. We mourn trees that fell in our yard. We cut each other's hair on the porch as the sun goes down. We spit watermelon seeds with abandon. We rescue possum and put sweaters on dogs. We build campfires when it's warm outside. We take pride in our roof. We help each other for the prana. We assemble when necessary. We bury our bones in the soil.
